  9.     Please save Your old configfile with the new Feppla before executing
  10.     Febbs. This way Feppla will update it to a new format.
  11.

  14.     * FEBBOK.TXT has been renamed to OKFILE.FEB.
  15.  
  16.     * FEBBS.ERR has been renamed to ERROR.FEB.
  17.  
  18.     * Rewrote the part of the code that checks to see if an area is tagged
  19.       for filelisting or not. Should speed up things a great deal on most
  20.       systems. Thanks Anders for the brainstorming :-)
  21.  
  22.     * Once more rewrote the touch thingy. It is now in assembler to give
  23.       me more control over what goes wrong under OS/2. If a touch fails
  24.       an error message will be displayed on the status line telling you
  25.       the errorcode and filehandle. Please report both to me.
  26.  
  27.     * Added info when RemoteAccess v2.xx is used that Febbs does not
  28.       support the filedatabase.
  29.  
  30.     + Febbs now supports overlays in XMS memory. Thanks to Bo Bendtsen
  31.       and Soren Ager for the code. Use the setup program to choose where
  32.       to put the overlays.
  33.  
  34.     * The temporary file that Febbs creates when moving/hurling files
  35.       have been renamed to HURLTMP.FEB. This is all in the move towards
  36.       using the extension *.FEB for all files created by or used by
  37.       Febbs. Just to help people keep their files in order. The file
  38.       will also be created in the directory that the Febbs setup is
  39.       pointing to as a temporary directory. It was before created in
  40.       Febbs homedirectory.
  41.  
  42.     * Temporary file created when shelling to hold tagged files if the
  43.       commandline parameter passed was ~@ has been renamed to
  44.       TAGTMP.FEB.
  45.  
  46.     + New feature. Febbs will when shelling to DOS and return check for
  47.       the prescence of a file called IMPORT.FEB residing in Febbs
  48.       temporary directory. If it is found Febbs will import the file
  49.       into files.bbs. This feature is usefull when looking at text files
  50.       either inside an archive or a non archived file and you want to
  51.       import some text as a description into Febbs.
  52.  
  53.       There is no limitation of the size of IMPORT.FEB. Febbs will
  54.       import until the editor reaches its limit. Should i restrict the
  55.       import to the first 10 lines or?
  56.  
  57.       I will supply You with a new stand-alone file browser within soon.
  58.       This browser will have the ability to mark lines and save them
  59.       easily to the file called IMPORT.FEB.
  60.  
  61.     - If Feppla wasn't able to read any areainformation from an existing
  62.       areafile Feppla would hang. Fixed.
  63.  
  64.     + Febbs now understands SuperBBS extended descriptions when creating
  65.       the filelists. Febbs will when finding a > character in the second
  66.       position of a string in files.bbs remove this character and indent
  67.       the description to the position specified in the setup under
  68.       General items->Indent to column. Febbs does not yet understand that
  69.       this is an extended description inside the editor.
  70.  
  71.     * Febbs can now handle 2000 file areas. Hi Anders :-)
  72.  
  73.     + Febbs can now import FILE_ID.DIZ from archives into the editor. Be
  74.       sure to run the keyboard setup part of Feppla since a new
  75.       keystroke has been added to this function. The function is also
  76.       added to the menu.
  77.  
  78.     - Corrected a great deal of spelling and grammar errors in Febbs.
  79.       Thanks to Derrick Neve for helping me out with the lingo.

  81.     + Redesigned the memory status info. It now shows all drives in
  82.       the system and not only the current one.

  84.     * Resized the filelist creation window.
  85.  
  86.     * OS/2 2.1 kernel PJ09050 has problems when running Borland Pascal
  87.       generated code that uses the overlay manager. So my recomendation
  88.       is to NOT use this kernel if You plan to run Febbs.
  89.  
  90.     * Better checking for out of memory errors when viewing archives and
  91.       You are tight on memory.
  92.  
  93.     + Support for ProBoard 2.xx implemented.
  94.  
  95.     + Support for areas with area numbers higher then 999 implemented.
  96.       This does not apply to Febbs in Maximus mode since Maximus is not
  97.       tied to using numeric characters as area "numbers"
  98.  
  99.     * Febbs internal text viewer has been removed. It will be replaced
  100.       by an external program later on.
  101.  
  102.     + Febbs now strips Maximus codes /T /B and /TB that are first on
  103.       the description line in when creating the filelist. These codes
  104.       are used to indicate free byte download and free time download
  105.       in the Maximus BBS.
  106.  
  107.     * Febbs now is able to view self extracting files created by the OS/2
  108.       archivers. These selfextractors are generally larger then their DOS
  109.       counterparts.
  110.  
  111.     + Febbs should now be able to support files.bbs files without any
  112.       extension.
  113.  
  114.     * The area descriptions have been increased to 45 chars. This is to
  115.       make some extra room for Maximus users that likes to have long
  116.       descriptions. Please remember to update Your area headers to
  117.       accomodate this new length.
  118.  
  119.     * Allthough Febbs is able to handle areanames up to 45 characters i have
  120.       decided to strip them donw to 40 characters when creating the lists.
  121.       This way the headers can be made to work with the old header files and
  122.       also it is a whole lot easier to make nice headers with the shorter
  123.       names. If anyone has something to say about this please speak up.
  124.  
  125.     * Changed the display some when hurling/copying files.
  126.  
  127.     * Removed the ability to change the areas to list configuration from
  128.       within Febbs. It can now only be changed from within Feppla.
  129.  
  130.     * Febbs picklist is now showing all area listing info (areas to list,
  131.       frequable area and password areas) just as Feppla does.
  132.  
  133.     - Fixed Fepplas edit file functions that was broken.
  134.  
  135.     - Fixed the files.bbs preview wich was broken in some parts.
  136.  
  137.     + A lot of work done to bring Febbs up to date with the new
  138.       version of Squeeze (1.08.3). Febbs should now be fully
  139.       compatible with this great packer.
  140.  
  141.     + Febbs is now able to let You view files inside Squeeze (SQZ)
  142.       archives. Please install SQZ.EXE in the setup program.
  143.  
  144.     + Limited RemoteAccess 2.xx support. RA2 is now using a binary
  145.       filebase. Febbs does not support this filebase (yet) but
  146.       Febbs will read the RA2 areafile. This means that You can keep
  147.       Your files.bbs files around and Febbs will use them. One
  148.       restriction is though that the files.bbs file must reside in
  149.       the same place as the files. CD-ROM support is therefore not
  150.       possible. Feppla and FBA is also updated.
  151.  
  152.     * Enhanced the display of numbers in the filelists. They are now
  153.       displayed in groups of three to enhance the readability.
  154.       This means that You most likely must update Your headers so that
  155.       they do not get out of shape.
  156.  
  157.     + Febbs will now replace all character 255 found in the files.bbs
  158.       file with character 32 (space). This is to fix a bug in the
  159.       Maximus filebase compiler.
  160.  
  161.     - Febbs is now opening all area files in share-deny-none mode so that
  162.       no problems should occur in a LAN/multitasking environment.
  163.  
  164.     - Tubbs is numbering its areas starting with zero not one. Fixed.
  165.       Reported by Lars Gustafsson.

  167.     - The lists was not using full Maximus areanumbers allthough specified.
  168.  
  169.     + The text lines inserted when creating a files.bbs file is now
  170.       configurable. HEADTEXT.FEB wich is a textfile placed in the
  171.       same directory as Febbs contains the text to be inserted.
  172.       This file can be edited from within Feppla.
  173.       Suggested by Herman Verbrugge.
  174.  
  175.     * Support for QuickBBS 2.76 added. Support for Maximus 2.00 area
  176.       index files added. This should cure the areas out of order problem
  177.       when in Maximus mode. Support for Tubbs/TubFile 1.00 added.
  178.       Support for RemoteAccess 0.xx dropped. Support for Maximus 1.xx
  179.       dropped. Support for Opus 1.10 dropped.
  180.  
  181.     * All BBS area reading routines have been rewritten totaly.
  182.       This should be a totaly transparent modification for You.
  183.  
  184.     + Added a new program to the distribution package, FBA.EXE.
  185.       FBA will dump all fileareas found in Your BBS configuration
  186.       to screen. This tool is handy when You suspect that Febbs is
  187.       missing out on something when reading Your areas.
  188.  
  189.     - Febbs is now able to properly view files in archives
  190.       that have paths associated with them.
  191.  
  192.     * Febbs will now display memory left in the lower right corner
  193.       of the status line.
  194.  
  195.     + A lot of work done to bring Febbs up to date with the new
  196.       version of Squeeze (1.08.3). Febbs should now be fully
  197.       compatible with this great packer. Allthough You can at
  198.       the moment not view files inside the archives.

  200.     - Corrected some problems with very large download counters.

  202.     + Febbs no longer adopts hidden files when adopting files to
  203.       files.bbs.

  205.     * Corrected a minor problem when viewing certain ARJ SFX archives
  206.       and also fixed a problem with directory entries in ARJ archives.

  208.     * The view files.bbs feature is now included in the nonregistered
  209.       version.

  211.     * EMS and XMS swapping is now included in the nonregistered version.

  213.     + Feppla now asks if You are sure if You want to leave if You
  214.       have done changes to an entry screen.

  217.     * Feppla no longer clears the whole entry field if You enter a
  218.       char in the first column.

  220.     * Febbs no longer saves the files.bbs as soon as You have imported
  221.       hurled files. Don't ask me why it did in the first place.

  223.     + Febbs now handles JPEG/JFIFF images (.JPG) just as it does with
  224.       GIF images. That is, Febbs will add the image info for the image.
  225.  
  226.     + Restyled the way external utilities are accessed. Before if You
  227.       installed a textviewer or any other viewer Febbs would automaticaly
  228.       add as the last parameter when calling that program the name of the
  229.       file on the current line. This is not the fact anymore. Now You must
  230.       in the setup supply the proper metastrings to get this working.
  231.  
  232.       Theese are the meta strings.
  233.  
  234.       ~C = Current directory
  235.       ~P = Path and Name of Current files.bbs
  236.       ~N = Name and full path to file on current line
  237.       ~@ = Text list containing full names of all tagged files in area
  238.       ~D = Description of file on current line
  239.       ~F = Name of file on current line without path
  240.       ~A = AreaName of current Area
  241.  
  242.       The same meta strings work in the external1-external5 programs that
  243.       You can install.
  244.  
  245.     * Feppla's helpfile has been put through mayor internal surgery :-)
  246.       Hopefully You will notice nothing of it but if the help in
  247.       Feppla behaves in a non expected mannor let me know.
  248.  
  249.     - The most downloaded files report was producing empty
  250.       entries with 999 as number of downloads, fixed.
  251.       Reported by several.
  252.  
  253.     - When removing files on drives with path resolution (\\SERVER\FILES)
  254.       Febbs will no longer report Path not found after having deleted
  255.       the file successfully. This is a bug in TurboPascal and has been
  256.       cured by writing the erase routines in assembler.
  257.  
  258.     * Febbs will no longer use an evaluation key that will expire.
  259.       It did bring in a whole lot of registrations but as usual
  260.       there were a lot of noise from thoose that will never register
  261.       anyway. Well, i am removing it and we will see if the registrations
  262.       keep coming.
  263.  
  264.     - Fixed a possible problem when Febbs sometimes was unable to
  265.       open an archive file for viewing its contents. Also made the
  266.       error report in such errors a bit more eleborate.
  267.  
  268.     * Rewrote some parts of the list part of Febbs and decreased
  269.       the time when creating the filelists. It is now a lot faster.
  270.  
  271.     *  Changed the display of the menus.
  272.  
  273.     *  Rewamped the mouse behavior. Now the mouse is visible all the time.
  274.        If You want to invoke the menu in the editor with the mouse simply
  275.        position the mouse at row 1 of the screen and press the left button.
  276.  
  277.     *  The Scrollbar on the side is just operatable if You click on the
  278.        up and down arrows of it. It will be fully operatable in the future.
  279.  
  280.     *  A bunch of new headers supplied by some very nice users of
  281.        Febbs. Enjoy!
  282.  
  283.     -  If a description did not have a Download counter it was
  284.        counted as -1 when Febbs was summing all downloads for
  285.        an area.

  288.     -  Fixed a bug in the detection of OS/2 as multitasker.

  290.     +  Support for peeking at files inside ZOO archives. Please install
  291.        Your ZOO unarchiver in the setup program.

  293.     -  If the current Files.Bbs file was edited by You and locked by another
  294.        task and You shelled to DOS Febbs would inform You that the file could
  295.        not be saved and then simply shell to DOS. Dropping all changes. Fixed.

  298.      + The ability to peek on ANSI and Avatar pictures have been added.
  299.        When You execute this function Febbs will view the following files.
  300.        .ANS, .AVT, .ASC, .MUS, .GBS.
  301.  
  302.      + When viewing archives and peeking at files inside the archives Febbs
  303.        will now display ansi and avatar files in the same smart manner it does
  304.        use the binary viewer when You view EXE/COM files inside the archive
  305.        viewer.
  306.  
  307.      + Febbs can now output a report of missing and Zerolength files that
  308.        resides in Your files.bbs files.

  311.      + The header files can once again be used by not registered users.
  312.  
  313.      + While adding the headers Febbs was adding some hardcoded lines that
  314.        told You when the list was created and so on. Those are gone and new
  315.        are 2 meta strings. ~D = The current date and ~N = How old files that
  316.        are marked as new are. Please see the two new header files that are
  317.        sent along the Febbs archive for some examples (febbhead.new and
  318.        febbhead.txt).

  321.      + Febbs now has the ability to "fix" bad dates when creating lists.
  322.        If a date is found to be ahead of the current date Febbs will take
  323.        action and add the number of days that is found in the "Error Date
  324.        handling" field under the list setup in Feppla. If You specify a
  325.        negative vallue larger then the number of days of files to include
  326.        in the news list You will no longer have these files showing up in
  327.        the list of new files. This option is handy when You have a
  328.        CD-ROM with some bad dates on it.

  330.  
  331.      - Corrected some colour errors in Feppla. The colours wouldn't get
  332.        updated if You changed them.
